Hand-Painted Wood Stupa
Hand-Painted Wood Stupa
Lovely hand-painted wooden Stupa from Nepal. Stupas are traditional Buddhist statues meant to symbolize the mind of awakening. They are usually filled with relics and blessed items, which are said to help to connect practitioners to the lineage and their own Buddha nature while they circumambulate the stupa (walk around it clockwise). The activity of walking clockwise around a stupa is called "Kora" in Tibetan. This particular stupa, painted white like the snowy slopes of the Himalayas, is called an Enlightenment stupa. Enlightenment Stupas symbolizes Buddha's enlightenment, the realization of the nature of mind, and are one of the eight different forms that Stupas are built according to. This is the perfect Stupa for a home shrine or a gift for a Dharma friend.
This Stupa can be opened and filled for consecration.
