The name Labradorite derives from it's place of discovery, Labrador, a Canadian province on the Isle of Paul. An Inuit legend tells of a warrior who saw the Northern Lights trapped in the rocks and struck them with his spear to free some of the lights. Luckily he didn't free all of the lights, because this gemstone is beautiful! Labradorite is said to help balance overactivity, protecting it's wearer from negativity both externally and internally.
