Beautiful thangka of Red Chenrezig Yab-Yum handpainted by traditional artists in the mountains of Nepal. Chenrezig, or Avalokitesvara (Sanskrit), is the guardian bodhisattva of the Mahayana. He is considered to be the essence of the compassion of all the Buddhas. He is pictured here in his red form with consort. His mantra of all-pervading compassion is OM MANI PADME HUNG.
