Amitābha is known for his attributes of longevity, magnetizing, discernment, pure perception and the deep awareness of emptiness of phenomena. Amitābha possesses infinite merits resulting from good deeds over countless past lives as a bodhisattva named Dharmakāra.
Amitābha is considered one of the Five Dhyāni Buddhas, who is associated with the western direction, the aggregate of distinguishing (recognition), and the enlightened speech of all Buddhas.
These statues have been gilded through a process of electric gold plating, which deposits a thin layer of gold upon the exterior with an electro-chemical process. The end result is absolutely stunning.
