Ratnasambhava is one of the 5 Dhyani Buddhas, and his name translates to the "Jewel-Born One." He is associated with the Southern direction and the second skandha, sensation. Meditation on Ratnasambhava vanquishes pride and greed, focusing instead on equanimity and generosity.
These Statues have been gilded through a process of electric gold plating, which deposits a thin layer of gold upon the exterior with an electro-chemical process. The end result is absolutely stunning.
