Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava, helped to establish the Dharma in Tibet in the eighth century by constructing Samye Monastary, the first Buddhist monastary in Tibet. He is often called the Buddha of our times, and is believed to be an incarnation of Buddha Shakyamuni.
