Vajrasattva, the Buddha of purification, holds a vajra in his right hand, symbolizing skillful means, or compassion. And in his left hand, he holds a bell, representing the wisdom of emptiness.
These statues have been gilded through a process of electric gold plating, which deposits a thin layer of gold upon the exterior with an electro-chemical process. The end result is absolutely stunning.
